This website
When you book a demo or write to us, we receive what you type into the form: your name, school, role, mobile number, e-mail, city, state, number of students and your message, with the page and language you used. We use it only to reply to you and to arrange a demo. We do not sell it or add you to a mailing list.
The website sets only the cookies it needs to work: a session cookie and a security token for the forms. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.
We keep enquiries for as long as we need them to follow up, and delete them when you ask.
The Chalkby service
Schools use Chalkby to keep their records: students, parents, staff, fees, attendance, exams, transport and messages. The school decides what is recorded and is the Data Fiduciary under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Chalkby provides the service to the school and processes the data on its behalf, only to provide the service.
- Each school sees only its own records. Inside a school, staff roles decide who sees what.
- Data travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS).
- We never sell school data or use it for advertising.
- Data is shared only with the services that do the job: the school's payment gateway, SMS, WhatsApp and e-mail providers, Google Firebase for notifications, and the hosting company.
- The school can export its records. When a school stops using Chalkby, its data is deleted after it has had the chance to export it.
What the parent, staff and driver apps collect is described in the apps privacy policy.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal data. If your school uses Chalkby, ask the school first; it holds your records. For enquiries you sent us on this website, write to us. Or use the contact form.
How to ask, step by step: ask for your data or its deletion. Complaints about how your data is handled go to our grievance officer.
