The service
Chalkby is school management software. A school ("you") subscribes to Chalkby for its staff, parents, students and drivers; the web app and the parent, staff and driver apps are part of the service.
Price and payment
- The price is per student per year, as shown on the pricing page or agreed with you in writing.
- SMS and WhatsApp messages are paid for separately with message credits, at the rates shown in Chalkby before you send.
- The subscription is paid yearly in advance. If it is not renewed, access may be limited until it is.
Your data
- The records you put into Chalkby belong to your school. You are responsible for having the right to record them, including parents' consent for children's data.
- We process them only to provide the service, as described in the privacy policy.
- You can export your records. When you stop using Chalkby, we delete your data after you have had the chance to export it.
Using Chalkby properly
- Keep sign-in details private and give each person only the role they need.
- Send messages only to parents and staff of your school, and follow the rules for SMS and WhatsApp in India (sender ids and approved templates).
- Do not try to reach other schools' data or disrupt the service.
Availability and changes
We work to keep Chalkby available and your data safe, and we improve the service over time. We will tell you before a change that takes away something you rely on.
Ending
You may stop using Chalkby at the end of any paid year. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms, after telling the school why.
